Recently I took a trip to WA inspired by the Twin Peaks show. I visited the Double R diner and other iconic filming locations. I’ve never done something like this before, visit a place just because a show or a film I love was made there. But when in America..

Since I had time I also visited the Olympic National Park and stayed at a little town named Forks, which I later discovered is another filming location, this time for the Twilight movies. .

Little fun fact about me: about 10 years ago, when I was a flight attendant in Greece, I picked up a copy of Twilight in English. It was a while since I had read anything other than in Greek, and it was the perfect, easy book to read. Later on, and as I was finishing up the third book of the series, I found out it was Meyers’ first book ever. And somewhere up there, in a dark little galley among the clouds, I said to myself, “well if she can produce such bs, I can do it too, but better.” And this is more or less how my journey to the USA begun…

10 years later, I can show off for no writing accomplishments, and I’ve created zero fictional characters whose posters hang in teens’ rooms. But I can proudly say that I’ve created friendships and had adventures and in my darkest times I had a blast discovering the beauty of will and determination. They say a book can take you places, and I’ve read hundreds of them so far. And in this sense, Twilight took me to the wildest rides of my life, yet.
