This is my 3rd day in the country, and the second city I visit. Crossing into Iran was mostly time consuming rather than difficult – it demanded bringing paperwork that was unnecessary, and since I arrived at 12:30am the employees

  • Part of the art of traveling, at least for me, is spending my money thoughtfully on experiences that serve both the community I am visiting, and my pocket. I rarely buy gifts for family/friends/myself; one of the things I love splurging though on in the recent years is buying local art. Not everything I own is unique or expensive, but everything I own has its own story of how it was acquired. The other thing I love collecting when traveling is postcards, which at the end of my visit I send to myself with little memories from my time there, and love notes. I have turned the walls of my home into storytelling surfaces, surrounding me with the memories of dear times past, and with excitement for times yet to be experienced.
